Tribute Comfort Dogs' Mission
Tribute Comfort Dogs, as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and through its volunteers, is dedicated to provide visits from well-trained, thoroughly tested, affectionate and obedient Comfort Dogs. Our teams will travel to various locations and facilities, at no charge, to comfort and lift spirits of service members, veterans and their families.
Challenges are accepted and sacrifices are made in every military family. It is who we are and what we are made of. It is this loyalty and selflessness that we honor.
We know first hand, social connectedness is vital to veterans’ and military families’ mental and emotional well-being, especially when transitioning back to civilian life.
Through our dogs we are able to connect and show appreciation for all that you give by someone who truly understands the sacrifices to entire family makes.
Our goals with visits from our Comfort Dog teams are to bring the comfort and joy that our K9s unconditionally give. Lifting spirits and providing support through camaraderie that only other military families can give.
Lifts the spirits of service members and veterans while comforting their families as they deal with the challenges of military and civilian life.
We are excited to provide visits from well-trained and unconditional loving comfort dogs handled by service members, veterans and their immediate family.
TCD works with Command, FRG, Yellow Ribbon and other veteran/military family organizations' events in our area.
None more loyal.
What is a Comfort Dog?
A Comfort Dog is a newer subset of a Therapy Dog. It's a dog that, as the name implies, gives comfort to those facing life's challenges, emotional distress, victims of trauma, or anyone that could use a K9 provided "pick-me-up".
Comfort Dogs are not Service Dogs or Emotional Support Animals. Comfort Dogs lift spirits, provides affection or comfort to people other than their owner/handler. Whereas both Service Dogs and Emotional Support Animals provide service or support for their owner/handler.
