Inspired by a dog’s unconditional love and loyalty,
our Mission is to enrich the lives of all those who answer the call to serve and their families through the human-animal bond*.
A Comfort Dog is a newer subset of the traditional Therapy Dog. It's a working dog that, as the name implies, provides comfort to individuals experiencing a traumatic event, such as the loss of a loved one, natural disasters or man-made crisis events. They are apart of a certified crisis response team.
Comfort Dogs are not Service Dogs or Emotional Support Animals. Comfort Dogs are highly trained and certified with Animal-Assisted Support Programs (AASP) that provide comfort to people other than their owner/handler.
Whereas both Service Dogs (highly trained) and Emotional Support Animals (no training required) provide service or support for their owner/handler.
What is unique about our program...
We take a special approach to supporting our Hero Families.
We were founded by a military family and have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by our hero community. We've walked a similar path and speak the same language.
Like majority of veteran, military and 1st responder families...our Comfort Dogs are always On The Move. Whether it's training day, visiting a facility or supporting an event, our teams are always on the go.
Healing Paws for Hero Hearts
We're dedicated to Serving Those Who Serve – our brave Service Members, Veterans, First Responders, and their Families. And we believe in the power of the human-animal bond to help support and encourage them.
Honoring Service, Every Step of the Way
We understand the unique challenges faced by our Hero Families. The weight of service can be heavy and we're here to support them throughout their journey. Our specially trained comfort dogs provide a calming presence and a source of unconditional love at deployment ceremonies, during homecoming celebrations, memorials and even in the midst of difficult goodbyes.
Beyond Comfort: Crisis Response Ready
We're not just about comfort. We're a certified animal-assisted crisis response team, prepared to deploy in the wake of critical incidents and natural disasters. Our specially trained dogs and handlers can provide immediate emotional support and help inspire resilience in the aftermath of a crisis.
*The Human-Animal Bond is a mutually beneficial and dynamic relationship between people and animals that positively influences the health and well-being of both.
